The Laconia Spartans secured a gritty win at home on Thursday night as both teams engaged in a defensive stalemate. Landon Schumacher broke the game open with a dominant rushing display, carrying the ball 10 times for 112 yards and accounting for the game's only touchdown. While quarterback Asher Morgan managed the offense with 14 passing yards, the Spartans relied heavily on their ground game to maintain control throughout the evening. Defensively, the Spartans were nearly impenetrable, anchored by a monstrous 18-tackle performance from Drake Stigler. Solid contributions from Paul Pontow, Nicholas Starbird, Grady Vis, and Emrick Vanbeek ensured the Hornets remained scoreless until the final whistle. This physical victory highlights Laconia's ability to win tough contests through relentless defensive pressure and disciplined rushing lanes. --- BOX SCORE Markesan Hornets 0 | Laconia Spartans 6 Passing Leaders Laconia Spartans: Asher Morgan (4/8 Cmp/Att, 14 Yds, 0 TD) Rushing Leaders Laconia Spartans: Landon Schumacher (10 Car, 112 Yds, 1 TD); Paul Pontow (10 Car, 41 Yds, 0 TD); Nicholas Starbird (9 Car, 11 Yds, 0 TD); Drake Stigler (1 Car, 2 Yds, 0 TD); Tillman Madigan (1 Car, 1 Yds, 0 TD) Receiving Leaders Laconia Spartans: Kash Lemmenes (1 Rec, 7 Yds, 0 TD); #0 (1 Rec, 4 Yds, 0 TD); Nicholas Starbird (2 Rec, 3 Yds, 0 TD) Defensive Leaders Laconia Spartans: Drake Stigler (18 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Paul Pontow (8 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Nicholas Starbird (7 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Grady Vis (7 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Emrick Vanbeek (7 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT)
