Saint Mary's Springs High School put on a masterclass in all three phases of the game on September 4, overwhelming the Laconia Spartans in a 48-6 rout. The Ledgers wasted no time setting the tone, racking up 14 points in the first quarter before extending their lead to 27-6 by halftime. The home crowd roared as the offense displayed incredible balance, utilizing both air and ground attacks to dismantle the Spartans' defensive unit. Zander Lenz was a standout force for the Ledgers, accounting for four total touchdowns by completing 2 of 3 passes for 51 yards and rushing 4 times for 68 yards. Jack McGuire was equally impactful, punching in four rushing touchdowns to keep the momentum squarely in favor of Saint Mary's Springs. While Laconia's Asher Morgan managed to connect on a touchdown pass to Tillman Madigan, the Ledgers' defense led by Nicholas Woodrow’s 10 tackles kept the Spartans from finding any rhythm for the remainder of the night. By the time the final whistle blew, the Ledgers had clearly established their dominance with a 7-point third quarter that iced the game completely. Laconia’s Drake Stigler played hard on defense with 12 tackles, but the sheer depth of the Saint Mary's Springs roster proved too much to overcome. The 42-point victory serves as a strong statement for the Ledgers as they look ahead to the rest of their conference schedule. --- BOX SCORE Laconia Spartans 6 | Saint Mary's Springs High School 48 1st Quarter: — 14 2nd Quarter: 6 — 27 3rd Quarter: — 7 Passing Leaders Saint Mary's Springs High School: Zander Lenz (2/3 Cmp/Att, 51 Yds, 2 TD) Laconia Spartans: Asher Morgan (6/8 Cmp/Att, 87 Yds, 1 TD) Rushing Leaders Saint Mary's Springs High School: Zander Lenz (4 Car, 68 Yds, 2 TD); Benjamin Schoofs (14 Car, 54 Yds, 0 TD); Braison Gurholt (2 Car, 48 Yds, 1 TD); Jack McGuire (8 Car, 42 Yds, 4 TD); Tyler Kant (6 Car, 26 Yds, 0 TD) Laconia Spartans: Landon Schumacher (3 Car, 12 Yds, 0 TD); Drake Stigler (2 Car, 11 Yds, 0 TD); Nicholas Starbird (8 Car, 9 Yds, 0 TD); Bennett Slager (3 Car, 8 Yds, 0 TD); Paul Pontow (2 Car, 3 Yds, 0 TD) Receiving Leaders Saint Mary's Springs High School: Joey Coon (2 Rec, 51 Yds, 1 TD) Laconia Spartans: Tillman Madigan (1 Rec, 38 Yds, 1 TD); Kash Lemmenes (2 Rec, 20 Yds, 0 TD); Killian McCarthy (1 Rec, 16 Yds, 0 TD); Bennett Slager (1 Rec, 9 Yds, 0 TD); Nicholas Starbird (1 Rec, 4 Yds, 0 TD) Defensive Leaders Saint Mary's Springs High School: Nicholas Woodrow (10 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Brady Zangl (7 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Jack McGuire (5 Tkl, 1 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Joey Coon (4 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Zayne Wilson (4 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT) Laconia Spartans: Drake Stigler (12 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Emrick Vanbeek (8 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Tillman Madigan (6 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Winston Everson (5 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT); Bennett Slager (4 Tkl, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT)
