The Lomira Lions wasted no time establishing their dominance at home on Thursday, August 21, routing the Horicon/Hustisford squad in a commanding 44-0 performance. Hunter Schaumberg led the charge with a spectacular outing, racking up 159 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries. He was equally effective on the defensive side of the ball, contributing seven tackles and a crucial interception to stymie any hope of a comeback. Quarterback Keegan Kell was firing on all cylinders, completing 4-of-5 passes for 71 yards and adding 54 yards on the ground. Kell accounted for two scores of his own, including a passing touchdown to Jackson Bloohm, who hauled in two receptions for 52 yards. The Horicon/Hustisford offense struggled to find rhythm against the stifling Lions defense, as Eleazar Selgrad was held to just 16 rushing yards. Anthony Kluck managed 36 passing yards, but the visitors could not overcome the relentless pressure applied by Lomira. This opening-night blowout serves as a powerful statement for the Lions as they move forward into the remainder of the season.
