By Staff Reporter|Friday, September 11, 2026
The Lomira Lions showcased a stifling defensive performance at home on September 11, shutting out Saint Mary's Springs in a decisive 17-0 victory. Elijah James anchored the Lions' defense with 10 total tackles, ensuring the visitors never found their rhythm in the end zone. Despite Saint Mary's Springs quarterback Zander Lenz throwing for 133 yards and Joey Coon racking up 96 receiving yards, the Lomira secondary held firm when it mattered most. On the other side of the ball, the Lions relied on a balanced attack to wear down the Ledgers' defense throughout the contest. Quarterback Keegan Kell was the engine for Lomira, completing four passes for 26 yards while adding a gritty 68 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Hunter Schaumberg proved to be a reliable workhorse for the offense, logging 18 carries for 87 yards and contributing three catches for 22 yards. While Brady Zangl put up a valiant effort for Saint Mary's Springs with 10 tackles and a tackle for loss, the momentum remained firmly with the home team. This victory marks a significant statement for Lomira as they continue to build their identity through disciplined play and physical toughness on both sides of the line.
